Wikipedia gives the same street number, 8822 Washington Boulevard in Culver City, and a building date of 1920, the year the company name changed from Rolin to Hal E. Roach Studios. The timeline gives 1919; Wikipedia gives 1920.
The Huntington Library catalog describes the Hal Roach Studios Inc. building at 8822 West Washington Boulevard in Culver City as seen from the street, with automobiles parked at the curb.
That catalog entry does not describe a gatehouse or a separate gate.
